Layers of whole cluster grapes alternate with destemmed grape layers, as if it was a ‘millefoglie‘ cake. After 2 weeks of maceration, the must rests in steel.

IL PINGRO is a young business run by Chiara and Margherita: two cousins determined to breathe new life into the old family vineyards. Only 1 km from the sea, in the province of Grosseto, our vines grow on sandy and mineral soils, shaken by the gusts of the Mistral: that is why our wine tastes of the sea. Produced by four hands along the coast of the Tuscan Maremma, GR1 5652 is made from native Ansonica and Procanico grapes. The end result reflects us and our land. Our philosophy is based on healthy and respectful agriculture: every step of the process is done by hand. What we offer is a simple wine, but made with care. Inspired by the taste of the farmer’s wine. IL PINGRO comes from ‘il Pingrosso’, the name of the place where we are located. In the middle of the field is a large maritime pine tree that our great-grandfather planted to find some shade on hot summer days. This pine tree, which grew solitary, became a ‘big pine tree’ in width, hence the name Pingrosso. Shortened to Pingro, for simplicity’s sake. Today that pine has become our symbol, impossible not to notice.

How does the shipping work?

After the order we prepare the shipping in 24-48 hours and delivery within Europe usually takes 3 to 5 days if all products are available.

What is a back-ordered product?

If a product is listed in the cart as "Available to order" or "backorder" the timing increases by 48h because we have to receive it from the manufacturer.

How do we ship the products?

Our priority is to pack and ship products as safely as possible. The bottles of wine and oil are shipped with special cardboard protections, there will be no breakages.

Do you use refrigerated transport?

No, all the products we sell are seasoned and under vaacum. They do not need to be transported at controlled temperature in a refrigerated truck. However, in the summer, for additional safety we can use dry ice and other protections to ensure an even more careful service.

IL PINGRO is a young winery formed by Chiara and Margherita: two cousins moved by the desire to recover their grandmother's old vineyards.
